Chief Jim Fullington
Chief Fullington was appointed Winder's Police Chief in March of 2014 after being hired as Assistant Chief in January of 2013. He began his career in law enforcement in 1985 as a Special Agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Chief Fullington was promoted to supervisor in 1997 and spent his last 15 years supervising various offices before retiring as the Special Agent in Charge of the GBI's Athens Regional Office in December of 2012.
During his career with the GBI, Chief Fullington worked in various areas such as general investigations, a crime scene specialist, drug task force commander, homeland security and intelligence. He worked throughout the state of Georgia and assisted numerous sheriff's offices, police departments and district attorney's offices.
