Notice of Property Tax Increase (PDF)
NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Winder, Georgia has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 6.05 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Winder Council Chambers of the Community Center located at 113 East Athens
Street, Winder, GA 30680 on June 10, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.*
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Winder Council Chambers of the Community Center on June 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., and June 22, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
*Due to lack of a quorum at the June 10th, 9:00 a.m. public hearing, an additional public
hearing on this tax increase will be at the Winder Council Chambers of the Community
Center on June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.963 mills, an increase of 0.283 mills over the rollback rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be
no more than 4.680 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market
value of $325,000 is approximately $36.79 and tax increase for a non-homestead
property with a fair market value of $350,000 is approximately $39.62.
The City of Winder will set the millage rate at the Winder Council Chambers of the
Community Center located at 113 East Athens Street, Winder, GA 30680 on June 24, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.**
**Please note that the date of the meeting at which the City of Winder will set the millage
rate has been changed. Because a quorum was not present at the public hearing held
on June 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., an additional public hearing must be conducted before
setting the millage rate.
