Center Street Stormwater Outfall Project Overview
The City of Winder is undertaking the Center Street Stormwater Outfall Project to address persistent flooding at the North Center Street underpass and improve drainage for properties along the corridor. This infrastructure project will involve significant construction efforts to install a new stormwater system, reducing flood risks and enhancing stormwater management in the area.

Monday–Friday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Coordination between the City, contractor, and property owners to minimize inconveniences.

Project Road closure
A portion of Hwy 29 (West May Street) between South Broad Street and Center Street will be closed beginning at March 16 at 6 a.m. The closure should last no more than 48 hours.
• Local businesses will remain accessible
• NO through traffic will be permitted in the work zone
• Detours will be clearly marked
• Closure expected to last no more than 48 hours (weather dependent)
Please plan to avoid Hwy 29 (West May Street) during this time and use alternate routes.
