Residential Yard Debris
Single Family and duplex residential garbage service allows for weekly yard debris collections.
The total allowable volume of yard debris (such as tree limbs and shrubbery) to be collected at curbside per residential property per week is a maximum of one pile approximately four (4’) feet in length by four (4’) feet in height by a width of 4 (4’) feet. This includes the combined total of both bulk and vegetative waste. Please note that larger piles or limbs greater than a four (4’) inches in diameter are not included in your monthly service fee and will carry an additional fee.
Except during scheduled loose leaf collection in the fall, yard waste (such as leaves and small clippings) may only be placed curbside if they are bagged. Residents may place the bagged leafs and clippings in ANY standard size plastic or paper bag weighing less than thirty (30) pounds. A maximum of eight (8) bags will be collected each week per residential property.
Seasonal Leaf Collection
The City of Winder conducts an annual loose leaf roadside collection, (October 1st to January 31st ). Residents are asked to rake or blow their leaves to edge of the road during this time frame, without blocking traffic or drainage ditches, and the City will pick them up.
The City will continue to collect leaves placed in bags on your normal garbage collection days.
Large items such as appliances, furniture, mattresses, lamps, bikes, chairs, tables, plastic pools, barbecue grills and other large items that can't be placed into your garbage cart will be picked up once per Month by the City of Winder. All Bulky items will be removed the last week of each Month. Items placed by the road outside of the last week of the Month will be removed and a fee will be placed on your utility bill in the amount of $50.
To Prepare for pickup: Do not mix bulk yard waste or garbage. The maximum size for bulk piles is four (4) feet long, four (4) feet high and four (4) feet deep. There will be a fee for larger piles placed at the road or if the pile is placed on the road where it can interfere with traffic.
Place bulk waste away from vehicles, poles, mail boxes, and other obstructions, adjoining your property. If we are unable to reach your bulk waste due to blockage, it will not be collected.Prohibited Materials
