    Ward: Ward 4

Councilman Travis Singley is the Councilman for Ward 4, but you may remember him as star for the Winder-Barrow High School Football team. Raised in Winder, Travis went on to Georgia College & State University after graduating high school and received his bachelor’s degree in marketing. Travis is also the owner of Outdoor Works, a Winder-based landscaping and fertilization company and has been in operation for nearly a decade.

Travis and his wife, Christy, have been married for 13 years, and have a daughter, Lexi. Like his landscaping work, Travis is inspired by blank canvases and making something beautiful from it. He always looks at a situation and tries to see how he can make it better and transform it—which is one of the reasons why he ran for City Council—“to be involved with the community and make a difference.”

In his spare time, Travis enjoys hunting, gardening and being outdoors, and of course, attending Georgia Football games. Football’s in his blood, and he tributes much of his personal success to his mentor, former Winder-Barrow Football Coach Phil Jones, who led by example and had motivated Travis for many years.

Aside from football, did you know that Travis played collegiate Rugby for three years against teams such as Florida State and Georgia Tech? He has also worked security as a bouncer in college. Known for his strength, dedication and determination, Travis is a large contributor to his community and plays large roles on the council’s Utilities & Storm Water Committee and as Chairman of the Public Safety Committee.
