Recurring Road Closures
- Jackson Street: Closed between East Candler Street and East Athens Street from 4 p.m. Friday until early Monday morning each weekend for the Downtown Street Café program.
Temporary Road Closures
Oct. 19–approximately Nov. 30 — Center Street: Center Street from May Street to E. Athens Street will be closed to through traffic for approximately six weeks for work on Center Street and within the railroad right-of-way, weather permitting. Emergency vehicles will be able to pass through as needed.
Access to OZK Bank and Maxwell’s will be accessible on Center Street from E. Athens Street. The pawn shop and ice cream shop at May and Center streets will be accessible from May Street.
Friday, Oct. 2 — For Barrels & Brews, E Candler Street from Bistro Off Board to Park Avenue will be closed to vehicles Friday, October 2nd from 2 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Jackson Street between E. Candler Street and E. Athens Street is closed to vehicles from 2 p.m. Friday, October 2nd until early Monday morning.
Tuesday, Sept. 29 — A section of Pinkney St. between E. Williams St, Nancy St. & Lumpkin St. will be closed to through traffic to perform repairs on sewer infrastructure, weather permitting. The closure will take place at 8:30am and will remain closed until work is completed.
Monday, Sept. 21 — A section of Georgia Avenue between Highland Drive and McElroy Street will be closed to through traffic to perform repairs on the sewer infrastructure, weather permitting. The closure will take place at 8:30 a.m. and will remain closed until work is completed.
Wednesday, Sept. 9 — Idlewood Road: Closed to through traffic between Colonial Hills Road and Grier Road beginning at 8:30 a.m. for sewer infrastructure repairs. The road will reopen when work is completed, weather permitting.
