WINDER, Ga. — On Friday, Oct. 23, from 5-9 p.m., downtown Winder will transform into a pirate-themed Halloween celebration filled with trick-or-treating, music, live entertainment and family-friendly activities as the City of Winder hosts its 13th Annual Spooktacular.

This year's theme, "Winder's Pirate Cove," brings a new twist to one of the city's most popular annual traditions, which draws more than 10,000 attendees downtown each year. The free, family-friendly celebration will feature trick-or-treating, costume contests, live entertainment, food trucks, vendors and activities for children.

Trick-or-treating will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., or while supplies last. Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy music from two DJs, food trucks and vendors. A dedicated kids zone will feature inflatables, spinning activities, bubbles and more.

The evening will conclude with a variety show featuring aerial arts, juggling and an LED acrobatics finale.

Event Schedule:

5–7 p.m.: Downtown trick-or-treating (while supplies last)

5–7 p.m.: Costume contest registration at the City of Winder tent (until spots are full)

5–8 p.m.: Kids zone featuring inflatables, spinning activities, bubbles and more

7:15 p.m.: Costume contest at the Jug Tavern Stage

8 p.m.: Variety show featuring aerial arts, juggling and an LED acrobatics finale

Food trucks, vendors and music from two DJs will also be part of the festivities.

Costumes are encouraged, and attendees of all ages are invited to participate in the costume contest. Registration is available at the City of Winder tent from 5 to 7 p.m., or until all spots are filled.

“For 13 years, Spooktacular has brought thousands of families together to make memories and experience the incredible sense of community that makes Winder special,” said Staci Waters, Events Coordinator for the City of Winder. “We’re excited to bring a fun pirate-themed twist to this year’s celebration and create another unforgettable evening in Downtown Winder. We look forward to seeing you there!”

The 13th Annual Spooktacular is presented by Inframark, NGMC Barrow, First American Bank, Akins Ford, Woodbine Station and The Yummy Sweets.
