The City of Winder is now offering utility customers the option to receive utility bill payment reminders by text message.

Customers enrolled in text reminders will receive one notification after the due date but before penalties are posted and another reminder after penalties are posted but before service interruption day.

The new reminder option will function similarly to the City’s current automated phone reminder system. Customers may choose to receive reminders either by automated phone call or by text message, but not both.

To sign up for utility bill payment text reminders, customers can fill out this form https://forms.office.com/g/fY0j3KFnZ5or email customer.service@cityofwinder.com and include:

• Utility account number or service address
• Mobile phone number for text reminders

Customers may sign up multiple utility accounts using the same phone number if desired.

This service is available only for City of Winder utility billing customers.

The City added the text reminder option in response to customer requests and to provide another method for receiving important billing notifications. Over the past several months, some automated phone reminders have been filtered as spam by wireless carriers.

Standard message and data rates may apply. Customers may opt out of text notifications at any time by replying STOP. Enrollment requests may take several business days to process.
