A section of Jackson Street in downtown Winder will be closed to vehicle traffic each weekend beginning this Friday as part of the City’s new Street Café program.
The closure will affect Jackson Street between E. Candler Street and E. Athens Street and will run from 4 p.m. Friday until early Monday morning.
During the closure, the street may be used by participating businesses for outdoor dining, while remaining open for pedestrian activity.
The weekend closures are authorized under a city ordinance adopted in December 2025 that allows designated “blocked street zones” to support street cafés and expanded outdoor dining in downtown Winder.
Drivers should plan alternate routes through the downtown area during closure hours.
