Starting August 1, 2025, the City of Winder will implement the second phase of scheduled water and sewer rate adjustments. These gradual increases, approved by City Council in 2024, help ensure safe, reliable services now and into the future by supporting necessary maintenance, upgrades, and system expansion.

The phased increases through 2026 will fund critical infrastructure improvements and future expansion to meet Winder’s growing needs.

For a residential customer who uses under 5,000 gallons a month, the increase would be about $2 on a monthly bill.

What’s Changing in 2025

Water 

Base Water Rates: The base fee for a 5/8 – ¾ inch line will increase from $19.10 in 2024 to $20.44 in 2025.

Volume Water Rates: For residential customers, the rate for the first 2,000 gallons will rise from $3.37 per 1,000 gallons in 2024 to $3.61 per 1,000 gallons.

Sewer

Base Sewer Rates: The base fee for all line sizes will increase from $21.67 in 2024 to $23.18

Volume Sewer Rates: For residential customers, the rate per 1,000 gallons will increase from $5.62 to $6.01in 2025, with additional increases through 2026.

“Nobody likes raising prices, but these adjustments are necessary to keep pace with our city’s growth, rising supply costs,  and evolving needs,” said Mayor Jimmy Terrell. “By investing today, we’re building a stronger, more resilient Winder—one that can continue providing safe, reliable services for families and businesses for years to come.”

These updates reflect the City’s commitment to sound financial planning and reliable service. The additional revenue will support system maintenance, upgrades, and expansion to meet Winder’s growing population.
