Since 1960, Bob Dixon has called Winder home. He began his second term on the Winder City Council in 2014, and is an active participant in the council’s Public Safety Committee and the Utilities and Storm Water Committee.
Bob’s commitment to service has never fallen short of anything less than significant as he is an active member of the First Baptist Church and had served on the Barrow County Board of Education for 26 years where he was also chairman for three of those years. During his tenure on the Barrow County Board of Education, he was actively involved in its budget process when many momentous decisions were made including the planning of Apalachee High School.
You may remember Bob as both a teacher and coach for Winder-Barrow High School, and his affiliation with the construction of the school’s football and track stadium, but Bob retired from a top 500 company after 25 years.
Bob and his wife, Diane, have three children and five grandchildren.
