Winder Home City Departments Police Home Chief's Page Divisions Investigations Certification Citizen Police Academy Court Services Links Anonymous Tip Submission Form Weather	Criminal Investigations Division Winder Police Department Criminal Investigations Division 94 North Broad Street Winder, Georgia 30680 Division Commander Captain Clifford Poole Phone: (770) 867-2156 Fax: (770) 307-1792 Email: cpoole@cityofwinder.com The Winder Police Department Criminal Investigations Division's functions are: To actively conduct follow-up investigations on reported criminal activity and to initiatite investigations involving those offenses related to organized crime or vice activities To identify persons suspected of criminal activity To present criminal cases to the Barrow County District Attorney's Office for prosecution During the calendar year of 2002, the Criminal Investigations Division handled over 4,000 cases. This resulted in an average case load of over 350 cases per detective per year, or a monthly average of 35 new assigned cases for each detective. The types of cases the division received for calendar year 2004 were: Theft by taking Damage to property Family violence Burglary Entering auto Battery Criminal trespass Aggravated Assault Rape Armed robbery The Criminal Investigations Division successfully cleared a large percentage of cases. Many hours were spent working on cases that require extensive investigation and that are ususally assigned to more than one detective. The Criminal Investigations Division served 130 arrest warrants related to assigned cases and arrested 114 persons during calendar year 2002.
