Chief of Police
Chief Stanley R. Rodgers
Chief Rodgers served as the Chief of Police in Barnesville Georgia from January 1994 to October 2000, when he left to become the Executive Director of the Georgia County Welfare Association. After nine months in his new position, he decided law enforcement was still in his blood and applied for the vacant Chief of Police's position with the City of Winder. Chief Rodgers was appointed Winder's Chief of Police July 1, 2001. Since he began his career here the department has become fully computerized within every office of the department including the new Glenwood Precinct. Through his leadership our department became a State Certified Law Enforcement Agency in the spring of 2002. Chief Rodgers is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. He has been a member of the Georgia Association of Chief of Police since 1994 and has served on numerous committees including serving as chairman of the Legislative, Juvenile and Training Committees. Chief Rodgers is active in our community and serves on the Board of Directors of Peace Place (Battered Women's Shelter), The Tree House (Child Advocacy Center) and is the Past President of the Winder/Barrow County Boys and Girls Club and Winder "Noon" Lions Club. |
